Oberer Hitzberg campus, Erlenbach

On the Erlenbach site, students are taught at secondary level 3.
The secondary school, consisting of three classes, is incorporated into the Oberer Hitzberg site where Erlenbach Primary School is based.
The Erlenbach campus contains the Unterer Hitzberg and Oberer Hitzberg buildings as well as the Allmendli complex.

Key features of secondary level 3:

• Education at this level is split into divisions A and B (foundation course)
• English, French and mathematics and French are taught at three performance levels (I, II and III)
• Project work is a compulsory part of the curriculum, including a mandatory and graded final project
• In addition to the foundation course, there are three different sections with optional subjects:
  Sek B: Preparation for a vocational apprenticeship
  Sek A+: Preparation for a vocational apprenticeship + option to prepare for upper-secondary commercial school
  Sek A Pro: Focus on pre-Gymnasium (grammar school) education and preparation for secondary school

The students are allocated to one of these streams on the basis of various assessments and a meeting evaluating their current progress and determining their targets for secondary level 2. The students can then supplement their timetable as they wish. The aim is to prepare them in an optimised and individually tailored way to allow successful transition to basic vocational training or further education at secondary level II.
